The problem

A UK travel brand running several related sites needed real referring-domain growth, and needed it without buying links. The group had almost no earned authority to build on: the flagship sat on three referring domains, which is close to starting from nothing.

What I did

I owned the off-page work across the whole group — editorial outreach, directory and citation placements, and HARO-style expert contributions. Every link was vetted against a DR 15+ floor.

The reporting mattered as much as the outreach. In a group of related sites it is trivially easy to inflate the numbers by counting links the sites give each other, so every figure below is deduplicated with sister-site cross-links stripped out before anything is reported.

The result

The flagship went from 3 to 45 referring domains with organic traffic up 77% across the engagement. The biggest mover in the group went from 14 to 44 referring domains, with organic traffic up 255%. Across the group the work earned 93 referring domains, 44 of them at AScore 6 or higher — authority that holds its value rather than decaying with the placement.

How these numbers are counted Referring-domain figures come from link data, deduplicated, with sister-site cross-links excluded. Traffic percentages were measured over the engagement window; the SEMrush trend charts are shown for direction and can differ in absolute values, since tools estimate traffic differently.
